How to Rebuild Skin Collagen Without Needles

The slow of collagen production in the skin is a hallmark of the aging process. The ability to produce new collagen fibers is slowed, while the existing fibers break down. This results in common signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. While injections and fillers are an option, it is possible to rebuild collagen without the use of needles.

Look for other treatment options, such as laser therapy. Skin care technology has come a long way. Dermatologists can now stimulate the skin’s natural process of producing collagen using lasers that are perfectly safe. This procedure can be done in under an hour and is non-invasive.

Consider microdermabrasion, either at home or a dermatologist’s office. Microdermabrasion is the process of removing the top layer of skin cells, either with a chemical peel or a scrub. As the skin heals, new collagen fiber production is encouraged.

Be sure to eat foods that are rich in vitamin E, or take a daily supplement. Vitamin E helps to rebuild the collagen fibers and supports the natural production of collagen.

Include foods that are high in vitamin C in an everyday diet. Foods such as fruits, green vegetables, and dairy products are rich in vitamin C, which is an antioxidant. This vitamin also adds hydrogen and oxygen to collagen skin cells. The amino acids in the collagen cells can then perform their collagen-forming functions.

Use a nightly skin cream that contains retinol, a derivative of vitamin A. Retinol is the active ingredient in many prescription, as well as over-the-counter, skin medications. It is known to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen. Always apply it before bed, since the sun inactivates the retinol.

There are many ways to encourage the skin to naturally rebuild its collagen fibers without filler injections. While the results may not be as dramatic at first, they are certainly longer-lasting.
